(31 Jan. 2019) First Agreements on Form of Government Reached

IROKA -- After weeks of heated debate at the "Okadara", the members of the Sevetian People's Assembly are beginning to define the form of government for the State of Sevetia. The People's Assembly currently rules the country as a provisional government, as stated in the Constitution passed last year.

The details revealed by several members of the People's Assembly show that the Executive Power will reside in a Cabinet led by a President, whilst the Legislative Power will reside in the People's Assembly. A Supreme Court will form the Judicial Power at a national level. The People's Assembly may have great powers. It is currently being discussed whether the Legislative Power should appoint the President or not.

At a prefectural level, the most popular proposal has a "Government Council" fulfilling the duties of both the Executive and the Legislative Powers, and a Judicial Power consisting of local courts.

With regard to the formation of the state bureaucracy, the "M Faction" seems to have imposed their point of view. According to their proposal, anybody who desires to hold a government position will have to meet certain requirements to apply for a position, and will have to pass an exam to gain the right to work for the government at either a national, prefecture or city level.

More details are expected to be revealed as debate goes on and agreements continue to be made between members of the Assembly.
