(4 Mar. 2019) New Calendar To Be Adopted

IROKA -- The Sevetian People's Assembly approved the creation of a calendar to be of official use in the country. The Sevetian calendar will replace the Gregorian calendar, which is currently used by the Sevetian people.

The calendar will have thirteen months of twenty-eight days each, and since weeks will have seven days each, a month will have four weeks. The last day of the year, or the last two days in leap years, will not belong to any month. The months received the following names: Ansitan, Nasitan, Dersitan, Taksitan, Gatsitan, Echsitan, Nahesitan, Matsitan, Yansitan, Diensitan, Dienansitan, Diennasitan, and Diendersitan. The last day of the year will be called Setkinet (plural: Setkineti).

The bill passed today will come onto effect when the new government is formed. The bill text states that such day will become "the first day of the year 0". Until that day, the Gregorian calendar will continue to be used.
