NANKAD -- The new national authorities of the State of Sevetia took office today. The transfer of power took place at the Sevetdara, in Nankad, new capital city of the country. Onder Ahetnibe, delegate of the Sevetian People's Assembly, which ran the Provisional Government, gave the members of the newly-formed Cabinet the "golden key". The key is the symbol of the protection of the State and the Constitution. The members of the Sevetian People's Assembly, by their part, stepped down so the new members could take office.

After the inauguration ceremony, the first acts were signed. The first one of them was the adoption of the Sevetian calendar, though the use of the Gregorian calendar will be allowed for a period of one year. The text of the bill passed last month was amended so the beginning of the Sevetian calendar is marked by the Declaration of Establishment, and not by the inauguration day, as originally intended. Therefore, the date of formation of the new government is ST 0 03-23 (the 23rd day of the 3rd month of Sevetian Year 0).

During the rest of the weekend, the Cabinet will nominate a candidate for the presidency of the country. The People's Assembly will then approve or reject the candidacy.
